We set off early today to ride stage 19 of the 2011 Tour de France with our Tour de France week guests. The van was loaded up with the bikes and we set off for the supported ride over the Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and Alpe d’Huez.
We will be running this trip as part of our Tour of the Oisans Holidays in September and October 2011 and throughout 2012.

We are half way through our La Marmotte week here and have tackled the Col du Glandon, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and Alpe d’Huez over the first 3 days of the holiday.

Took a quick spin up Oulles today before our near 200 guests arrive for La Marmotte 2011. This year we have hotel accommodation through our new website PolkadotStop, Self catered accommodation through Enjoy Oisans and of course our cycling tour week.
Today took in the ride up to Villard Reculas down Alpe d’Huez and then across to Garde en Oisans and back to Bourg d’Oisans
After day 4s rest day we tackled the Alpe d’Huez Triathlon long route over the Col de la Morte and the Col d’Ornon.
Today we tackled the final climb in this Years Tour de France, L’Etape du Tour and La Marmotte and Triathlon events Alpe d’Huez and the Col de Sarenne. We set up a mini timetrial up the Alpe with one of our guests setting a new guest female record of 66 minutes. After Alpe d’Huez we cycled up and over the Col de Sarenne which has just reopened for the summer.
Now that the Col du Glandon is open we took the route up to the Col du Glandon and the Col de la Croix de Fer.
First day of our first tour of the 2011 season took in the beautiful ride to St Christophe en Oisans and La Bérarde. The weather was a little changeable with it snowing at the top and beautiful sunshine at the bottom in Bourg d’Oisans

My 8 year old son woke up yesterday morning saying he wanted to ride up Alpe d’Huez. Now he considers himself more of a downhill mountainbiker so I was a little surprised. Anyway he made a good attemt getting to the first bend.
The Col de la Croix de Fer is Open For Summer 2011. The Col du Glandon is still signposted as closed but it is probably ridable to the top – just not down the other side.
The organisers of the La Marmotte sportive have just contacted us to let us know that there are still entries available for the 2011 La Marmotte Sportive through their Trophée de l’Oisans package. The package includes La Marmotte, Alpe d’Huez Timetrial and two other sportives in the area for just 99 Euros. Obviously you are not required to compete in all the events but it is a good way to enter the sportive itself. So if you have left it late to enter here is your chance. In addition we have some new accommodation packages for more information see below.

Polkadotstop.com are now selling bed and breakfast space at the hotel Chalet de Camigam in Alpe d’Huez. Minimum stay is just 2 nights and the hotel includes its own swimming pool. More information can be found here
Completed my 34th consecutive month of cycling Alpe d’Huez in a time of 61.52. Some 6 minutes of my best time but not bad for April. The weather did not help either with the last 5 bends being very windy.
For 2011 we have again linked up with CNP Professional official suppliers to Team Sky. They will be giving a Team Sky kit to one of our guests chosen at random at the end of the season. To enter this you must record your time on our interactive Alpe d’Huez times page. This is only available to guests staying with us or hiring bikes from us.
The parcours for the 2011 Critérium du Daupiné has finally been released. There is not much going on near us this year – the closest being the timetrial from Grenoble which has been included to mirror the 2011 Tour de France time trial. The closest it gets to Bourg d’Oisans is Vizille which is about 20km away.
Polkadotstop.com have just secured additional rooms at the Chalet le Camigan hotel in Alpe d’Huez for the following events
The hotel is situated in the old part of town and boast its own indoor swimming pool, jacuzzis and saunas. All rooms are en-suite and there is a very large secure garage for your bikes.
From May 2011 the tourist office will be running 21 timed accents of the local climbs. All you will need to do is get yourself a timing chip and knock off as many of the climbs as you can.
