Yesterday was my birthday and i rode up Alpe d’Huez from our base in Bourg d’Oisans for a coffee with the family at the finish line !. They all cheated and went in the Enjoy Minibus !
I have to say this is the best time of year to ride Alpe d’Huez – the scenery is spectacular with the leaves on the mountains turning an autumnal red. The weather is still great – a little chillier definitely – but after 13 km of the famous 21 switchbacks you really will not notice it.
