Col du Galibier and Col du Lautaret

We went up the Col du Galibier yesterday riding through the clouds to the 2645 metre summit. Before you hit this desolate but beautiful climb you also have to take in the Col du Lautaret (2055 metres) especially if you are coming from Bourg d’Oisans at the base of Alpe d’Huez from our cycling accommodation.

You can either ride from our base taking  in Freney d’Oisans, the base of Les Deux Alpes and La Grave which is a 94 km round trip but does take in with a fair few cycle unfriendly tunnels, Or as we did yesterday we can take you up to Villar d’Arène in our minibus and you can ride the 35 km route.
