Tour De France 2008

Once again the Tour de France is passing through our base in Bourg D’Oisans.

Wednesday 23rd July the Tour starts out in Embrun for the first time and after 196 km arrives at the base of Alpe d’Huez for a climb averaging an 8% incline covering 14 km to the finish. The fastest ascent recorded belongs to Marco Pantani in 1997 in 37 minutes and 35 seconds.

Thursday 23rd July the Tour sets off again from the centre of Bourg D’Oisans on its 197 km journey to Saint-Etienne.

Come and soak up the atmosphere and watch the race, and then have a go yourself.

The house is in an ideal location for cyclists right in the heart of the Oisans six valley’s and at the foot of many classic cycling routes including the Col de Galiber, Col de Lauteret, Col D’Ornon and of course Alpe D’Huez.

Our holidays include accommodation, airport transfer and all the route information you need.

We also provide an out-lift service so you can enjoy the ride back to base.
